Validate Large Datasets
Validate large JSON files in the browser with Web Workers, schema checks, filtering, and repair guidance while noting memory limits for oversized datasets.

Processing large datasets in the browser requires efficiency. DataLensia is optimized to handle large files without sending data to a server.
🛠️ Validation Strategy
1. Use the Dedicated Validator
The standalone JSON Validator uses Web Workers to parse and validate data without freezing the UI, making it suitable for large files.
2. Schema-Based Validation
If you want to validate that all records match an expected structure:
- Use the Schema Generator to infer a schema from a known-good sample.
- Copy the generated schema.
- Open the Validator, paste your data, and enable Schema Validation by providing the schema.
3. Filter Before Validating
If you have a massive file and only need to verify a subset of records:
- Load the file in the JSON Editor or a Workspace.
- Add a Filter Component to isolate the records you want to inspect.
- Pipe the filtered result into the Validator.
4. Automatic Repair
If your large file has structural issues (e.g., a missing closing bracket), the Validator's Auto-Fix feature can repair common errors automatically.
🚀 Performance Tip
For very large files, avoid expanding the entire JSON tree at once. Instead, use the Search bar in the JSON Editor to jump directly to the keys you need to inspect.
