Builder Component
Map JSON fields, reshape nested structures, apply built-in operators, or use JavaScript in the Transform Builder pipeline node to prepare data for export.
Last updated:
The Builder Component is the most versatile transformation node in DataLensia. It integrates the full Transform Builder directly into your pipeline workflow.
⚙️ Capabilities
- Rename Keys: Change
first_nametofirstName. - Value Transformation: Apply over 25+ operators (casing, math, regex).
- Structure Changing: Move fields into nested objects or flatten them.
- Custom Scripts: Write JavaScript to handle complex edge cases.
🛠️ Bidirectional Synchronization
Double-clicking a Builder component opens a modal where you can visually map your input schema to a new output schema.
- Auto-Sync: Changes made in the modal are automatically saved back to the node configuration.
- Real-time Preview: See how the pipeline's actual data is transformed as you build your mappings.
📁 Workspace Transform
When using the Workspace Transform node:
- It synchronizes its mapping configuration with the main workspace's transformation rules.
- Updating mappings within the pipeline modal will also update the global workspace mappings.
- Ideal for testing how your global transformations behave within a larger data flow.
Continue from the Standalone Builder
The standalone Transform Builder can create a three-node pipeline from its current source data and mapping rules. Choose Build workflow to connect the Transform node to Table View, JSON File Export, or a GET Mock Output. The input and complete mappings are copied into a temporary pipeline, where you can run and edit them independently. For Transform and mock, run the pipeline again after changing the input or mappings to update the GET Mock Output; the same input and mappings produce the same result.
